Biography Valerie diLorenzo, a native New Yorker, has been performing for as long as she can remember. No stranger to the stage, Valerie most recently played the role of Felicia Dantine in the Totem Pole Playhouse production of I Hate Hamlet and originated the role of Texas Guinan in the new musical Jenny & Me, which had its debut at the York Theatre. The New York Times said..."Ms. DiLorenzo walked with the acting honors of the evening...for her performance as Sgt. McCoy in the Fleetwood Stage production of And Call Me In The Morning." The Baltimore Sun Times headline read "Strong Mama Rose Propels Gypsy." The Morning Call in Allentown, PA called "Ms. diLorenzo's performance as Nancy a wonder", and claimed her "wonderfully comic as the slatternly Miss Hannigan in Annie...with a showstopping version of Little Girls." Valerie’s one-woman shows have been defined as “…a seamless venture of magic in the making.” Her voice and showmanship have been critically acclaimed for presenting interesting and exciting music matched by "a beautiful voice most musical theatre wanna bees aspire to... and an engaging demeanor most society hostesses would give their eye tooth for.” She has played at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Triad, Judy's, Tatou, Don't Tell Mama's, The Duplex, the Tunnel, Caramoor Center for the Arts, Mohonk Mountain House, The Gate in Michigan, and Odette's and Frangelica's in Pennsylvania. Valerie’s treasured collaboration with Maestro Barry Levitt has been featured at the Landmark Theatre in Port Washington and several area clubs. A fan of musical revues, Valerie was also a principal in And The World Goes Round, Blues in the Night, Oh, Coward!, Blame it on the Movies, Cole, and By George, It's Gershwin. |
